Learn English for Work or Study

We are still enrolling for our face to face evening English classes to help you develop your English-language skills, job seeking skills and confidence to try higher levels of study and work. Courses are free for Centrelink recipients and will be run according to Covid-19 safety guidelines to keep participants safe.

STARS Update COVID-19

Given the current situation with COVID -19 and the need to prioritise people’s safety, STARS has decided to postpone all face to face training, forums and activities until the end of April 2020. We will be adhering to the Commonwealth Department of Health guidelines and keep you informed when face to face training is able to resume.

Limited places are still available in this short course which will help you begin to get the skills and knowledge needed to work in aged care, childcare, classroom support or other community service roles.

Do you have a couple of hours to spare each week or fortnight, have a car and enjoy spending time with older people? There are older people in the community who need the support of a friendly person to do some local light shopping.

NEW Charter of Aged Care Rights

From the 1st of July 2019, the Australian Government is introducing a new and simpler Charter of Aged Care Rights.  This will replace the current charters of aged care rights and responsibilities.

The Clinic operates on Wednesdays from the Centre’s offices at 130 Railway Pde, Lakemba and aims to improve the health and well being of women in the local area by offering greater access to preventative health and health screening services.
