The Centre relies heavily upon volunteers to provide many of our services. Volunteers contribute their time, energy, skills, experience and good will to help our community. Volunteering is unpaid work based on free choice.
Canterbury City Community Centre Volunteers come from all walks of life, men and women, all age groups, different cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds and they volunteer for many different reasons. We respect whatever good intention has led you to become a volunteer and welcome any commitment you are able to make of your time.
Centre Volunteers are offered training, are fully insured and are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses such as travel to and from volunteer work. We are happy to acknowledge and confirm your contribution to the Centre if you are seeking work. All volunteers are acknowledged in our Annual Report.
People who wish to volunteer must complete an application form and supply at least two character references. Potential volunteers also undergo a Criminal Records Check.

Canterbury City Community Centre welcomes Corporate Volunteering Teams. If your business would like to get involved in the community by volunteering in one of our programs please call us. We currently have teams from The Body Shop and the University of NSW volunteering with our Garden Care service on a regular basis.
